LEADERSHIP AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

WHO DOES THIS SERVE?
High school students

PURPOSE
CACD Leadership is a 12-week program, offered three times during the year. It offers workshops in leadership, mentoring and life-skills.

OBJECTIVES
Volunteering – Students become volunteers, giving the opportunity to gain the 40 hours of community service necessary for high school graduation, and impact the lives of the CACD community and its participants.
Leadership
Build confidence which will allow individuals to make positive life decisions and resist peer pressure.
Empower individuals to create a road map for personal, career and community development.
Life Skills
Build fundamental life skills and learn effective decision-making, communication, and problem solving
Mentoring
Provide support for youth through mentoring, role modelling and reinforcement.
Reduction of stress to parents, as youth become more self-sufficient and productive
First Aid/CPR
Learn essential life saving skills
Financial Literacy
Educate youth on the value of hard work as a means to earn money, and importance of money management.
Entrepreneurship
Teach youth the skills and knowledge necessary to identify and start their own business
