Rachel Luke has been teaching English and Dramatic Arts at Glenforest Secondary School in the Peel District School Board in Mississauga since she began her teaching career 18 years ago. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts (Distinction) from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education from York University. She has qualifications in English, Dramatic Arts, ESL and Library and will soon have her Guidance qualifications. She recently received Canada’s highest honour for Teaching Excellence.
In her school community, she is involved in committees focused on equity and she supervises a variety of extra-curricular activities including dramatic productions and social justice initiatives such as Black History, Holocaust and Indigenous Education. She is also actively involved in volunteerism in her local community and in her church. She enjoys reading and travelling and has visited close to 70 countries.
